When Joburg City Auto opened its doors in Johannesburg CBD in 2003, it was the first wholly black owned dealership in South Africa.
It faced all kinds of challenges the area had to offer. The dealership stood to represent the new South Africa, a place where the rising class of black professionals would come to buy their luxury sedans. With the challenge of its premises and surrounding area, the business required a dedicated team to build a lasting reputaion out in the metropolitan.
In June 2008, Stephen Nale took over as dealer principal and owner with the mind set to improve and perfect that which the dealership already represented. Although, coming from another brand Stephen was no stranger to BMW having started at what was then called Western BMW. He grew and developed from Project Manager to Dealer Principal.
Stephen understood the importance of a strong team and made it his mission to build one. With the selected Joburg City Auto team and the support from their management, the dealer has been able to overcome the challenges, maintain their passion for great service with a smile and reach its targets without immense difficulty.
